On Saturday, 30 March 2019 a competition was played in celebration of Ben Fouchee achieving 20 years at Paarl Golf Club.

There were more than 200 players who participated in the competition. Each player received a goodie bag with several items.
Golfers wereprovided with Aquabella Water which was sponsored by Hennie Durr. Mari Kilian organised through Fruitworks
to sponsor grapes and apples for golfers to enjoy.  A TaylorMade bag was put up as a raffle item and the lucky winner of this
bag was Walter Warren.

After the game each fourball received a cheese, bread and biltong platter, which was sponsored by Fairview
and made possible by Louis Lourens. Graham Retief sponsored Stubborn Man Wine for the golfers to enjoy
at the prizegiving.

The function was well attended. Willem Pretorius – Club Manager – welcomed everybody to the prizegiving, introduced the speakers and called up
all the winners. Our speakers for the night were Christie Vivier – Club President, Paula Bester – on of our previous Lady Captains, and
Donald Humphries.

Ben also gave a short speech and thanked Paarl Golf Club’s members for the honour of being their PGA Coach for 20 years.

There were 16 prizes, 4 nearest-to-the-pins, a longest drive and 6 lucky draws which were won

Many members were not able to attend the celebrations on Saturday but we want to invite everybody to keep an eye out for a date towards the end of the year.
We want to have a Fundraiser Golf Day to generate funds which will be allocated towards upgrading the driving range – practice and coaching facility.
